ESOL/Medically qualified volunteers needed for RAMP!

Can you help? We’re looking for tutors to volunteer on our RAMP (Refugees as Medical Professionals) Devon project to help clients who are qualified healthcare workers in their own country prepare for the Occupational English Test, which is the language requirement to work in the NHS. We’re looking for 2 types of tutors:

• Qualified TEFL teachers (CELTA/DELTA) interested in teaching English in a medical context.

• Medical professionals in any field (nurses, doctors, surgeons, specialists, pharmacists, vets, dentists, ophthalmologists, etc.)

Both volunteer groups will do some online training to learn about the OET and then teach small groups or individuals either in-person (in Exeter) or online. Times of classes are flexible to be arranged with the client(s).

There will also be opportunities for medical professionals to mentor clients for their professional exams (e.g. PLAB), which is the next stage of the journey after passing the OET.

For further information, please email Denise at education@refugeesupportdevon.org.uk or call our office, 01392 682185 - thank you!
