RSD launches Christmas crowdfunder!

On 28 November (Giving Tuesday) RSD launched a crowdfunder to raise £5,000 to provide 'welcome packs' for newly-arrived asylum seekers in the local area.

This year RSD, together with our local partner organisations, has supported over 600 new arrivals, many in temporary hotel accommodation in isolated locations arund Devon, often in just the clothes they’re wearing. These people find themselves in a completely unfamiliar and sometimes hostile environment, where they are expected to manage day-to-day practical issues such as sending their children to school, registering with local GPs, dentists, and often mental health services, as well as navigating their way through a complex asylum process.

Funds raised by RSD’s Christmas Appeal this year will help purchase essential toiletries, underwear, a warm jumper, stationery and other basic items. For full details please visit our '2023 Christmas appeal' page and to make a donation please click here. THANK YOU!
