Annual Review 2024 - 2025
We are proud to share our latest Annual Review, which highlights a year of resilience, compassion, and community support for refugees and people seeking safety across Devon.
From emergency funds and drop-in services to our RAMP project supporting refugee doctors and vets to requalify in the UK, RSD has continued to stand alongside people rebuilding their lives in the face of extraordinary challenges.
Voices from our clients remind us why this work matters:
- "The staff and volunteers at RSD are incredibly compassionate and dedicated. Their tireless efforts not only support the immediate needs of refugees but also empower them to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope."
- “[RSD's support] has put me back on track and I now feel like a human being.”
- “[RSD's] commitment has given us strength to move forward and overcome challenges.”
The report shows that over a year we’ve:
- Supported over 200 people through our drop-in clinic
- Helped individuals and families facing destitution with emergency funds
- Secured vital legal representation for asylum seekers in contingency accommodation
- Enabled refugee medical professionals to requalify and work in the UK
- Built community through events, English language learning, and even our multicultural choir and community garden projects.
None of this would be possible without our incredible staff, volunteers, trustees, partners, donors, and supporters.
Read the full Annual Review here introduced with a letter from Helen Hartstein, our Chair of Trustees.
Together, we can continue making Devon a place of welcome, dignity, and hope.
