Meet Our Community Garden Volunteers...

If you couldn’t tell by the footwear, these wonderful volunteers help run our community garden - a welcoming space in Exeter where refugees and people seeking asylum can grow food, spend time outdoors, and connect with others.
From planting and harvesting to sharing tea, conversation, and learning about different backgrounds and cultures, the garden is about so much more than growing vegetables. It’s about community, care, and belonging.
We’re so grateful for the time, energy, and heart they bring to this space.
Last week, the team came together in the office to plan for the year ahead - from building a new polytunnel (thanks to a recent grant from the Swan Mountain Trust!), to a summer BBQ to celebrate Refugee Week, and arranging day trips to the community garden for people seeking asylum who are living in contingency hotel accommodation.
There's lots to look forward to - keep an eye out on our newsletter and social media channels to stay up to date with upcoming events and ways to get involved!
