We went to Parliament! | RSD joins Mass Lobby for Migrants Rights
On Wednesady (11th March), we were proud to join organisations and campaigners from across the country in Westminster for a mass lobby for migrant rights.
We met with Devon MPs, Steve Race and Richard Foord, in Parliament to share our serious concerns about the proposed earned settlement immigration system, which would make it even harder for refugees to settle in the UK.
10 of our volunteers and clients - several with lived experience of the UK’s immigration and asylum systems themselves - spoke directly with MPs about how these changes would affect the lives of refugees in Devon.
It was a real privilege to represent our clients in Devon and to say a clear “no to earned settlement.”
Thank you to Praxis, Citizens UK and the NRPF Partnership for organising and bringing organisations together from across the country.
From Devon to Westminster: Refugees are welcome here.
