Community Allotment Gets Visit from Councillor
Last week our Refugee Support Devon community allotment got a visit from Exeter City Councillor, Cllr Rob Harding.
Our allotment is run by volunteers. It is a space for our clients, refugees and asylum seekers, to meet others in the local community and get their hands dirty outside in nature! They grow all sorts of vegetables and crops including nurturing several apple trees!
We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful volunteers, particularly our volunteer Mark, who runs the allotment day-to-day and is there every week supporting clients and keeping the allotment in shape.
We were excited to welcome Cllr Rob Harding to the allotment last week, share our work and show him around. We are pleased to have his support.
We have recently secured a grant to purchase a new poly tunnel for our allotment. This will mean that we are able grow a variety of fruit and vegetables, creating more opportunities to get involved.
